In Best of N, two teams do not play just a single match but a whole series. With 4 teams, this creates a knockout tournament over 2 rounds with 3 series matchups. In a Best of 3, that means between 6 and 9 games – the stronger side usually prevails only over several matches.

Best of N means two players play a series of up to N games. Whoever wins the majority first (e.g. 2 out of 3) wins the series.
The most common are Best of 3, Best of 5 and Best of 7. In Best of 3 you need 2 wins, in Best of 5 you need 3 wins.

Yes! Once a player has reached the required majority, the series is automatically ended and the next opponent is assigned.
With 4 teams it's between 6 and 9 games – depending on how many series go the full distance. With 2 fields the pure playing time is about 1 h, with 4 fields roughly 30 min – each without breaks.
A Best of 3 series lasts between 2 and 3 games: whoever wins 2 games first takes the series. Across all 3 matchups that adds up to 6 to 9 games in the whole tournament.
