What needs to run smoothly at a tennis tournament
Choose a format for singles or doubles
From eight participants, the assistant suggests a group stage with a knockout round. A pure knockout is shorter but eliminates players early.
Structure courts and the schedule
Matches are assigned to courts. Dependencies between rounds determine how many waves are needed at minimum.

Set scores are entered. The app does not record individual points within games.

Seven matches in total. The pure lower bound would be 7 × 12 min ÷ 2 courts = 42 min. Because of dependencies the plan needs four waves: quarterfinals 1 and 2, quarterfinals 3 and 4, semifinals 1 and 2, then the final. That gives 4 × 12 min play + 3 × 3 min changeover = 57 min. Registration, delays and the prize ceremony come on top; no guaranteed end time.

Which format is best for a tennis tournament?
With few courts and little time, a knockout tournament. From eight participants, the group stage with a knockout round gives each team more matches.
What does best of 1 set mean?
A match is decided by one won set (games up to 6, deciding set up to 7). The template plans 12 minutes of playing time per match.
How long does a tennis tournament take?
Match lengths vary widely. The template uses 12 minutes of play and 3 minutes of changeover as planning values. The calculated time is not a guaranteed end time. For club play, 12 minutes is a tight minimum assumption: a set to 6 often takes 30 to 45 minutes, so plan a longer playing time for full sets.
How do I handle rain breaks?
The tennis template does not describe automatic rescheduling for rain. You re-enter postponed matches into the schedule yourself.
Does this also work for doubles tournaments?
Yes. A doubles team is a fixed team of two members and is planned like a singles player.
Which set scores are recorded?
Recorded are the scores of completed sets. Individual points within games, a golden point and a match tiebreak are not recorded.
Do official tournament rules apply?
The template is meant for club and invitational tournaments. The tournament director sets the rules, serve order and tiebreak procedure; the app does not check them.
Can Turniermeister rotate partners in a rotating-partner tournament?
No. Planning requires fixed teams; changing partners are not formed or scored. Partner changes and rankings are organised outside the app.
Can guests see the schedule online?
The public tournament page is read-only and requires a paid plan. A purchased template alone does not unlock it.
What does the tennis template cost and what is free?
