Why series scoring by hand is tedious

Once placements from several tournaments are added up, a small table quickly becomes a breeding ground for errors.

Points are summed manually

You transfer placements from every tournament into an overall list by hand.

Errors sneak in

Forgotten results or wrong point allocations distort the ranking.

The ranking is not public

Participants and spectators cannot see the overall standing – the motivation for series suffers.

How your points series runs automatically

Choose the point distribution freely

Standard presets (100/80/65/…) or your own points per place – adjustable at any time.

Placements scored automatically

The overall standing is computed live from the final placements of finished tournaments.

Tiebreak by points and wins

Ties are broken by tournament wins and the number of scored events.

Share the ranking publicly

The season page shows the points series publicly – no app, no sign-up.

Run a transparent points series

A checklist for scoring, no-shows, ties and corrections.

  1. 01

Set the point key in advance

Publish points per place, tie-breakers and the no-show convention before the season. Standard values start with 100, 80 and 65 points for the first three places.

  2. 02

    Include the intended events

After each tournament, confirm final placements and check that it is finalized and enabled for the table.

  3. 03

    Explain ties

When total points are equal, tournament wins count first, followed by the number of scored events. If those also match, the table orders teams alphabetically by team name. Places are not shared.

  4. 04

    Correct the source result

Correct an erroneous result in the affected tournament, then check the event points and overall standing again.

Example: three events, a tie and a correction

Illustrative calculation for three participating teams using 1st=100, 2nd=80 and 3rd=65 points. A fourth team, Delta, does not enter any of the three events.

  1. 01

    Add the three events

    Before correction: Event 1 A/B/C = 100/80/65, Event 2 = 65/100/80, Event 3 = 80/65/100. A, B and C each total 245 (A: 100+65+80; B: 80+100+65; C: 65+80+100). Delta is not entered and has no event points in this example.

    TeamEvent 1Event 2Event 3Total
    A100 (1st)65 (3rd)80 (2nd)245
    B80 (2nd)100 (1st)65 (3rd)245
    C65 (3rd)80 (2nd)100 (1st)245
Deltanot enterednot enterednot enteredno event points
  2. 02

    Check the tie-breakers

A, B and C each have one event win and three scored events. Points, wins and event counts do not distinguish them, so the example table orders them alphabetically (A before B before C). Places are not shared. Use the series agreement for any actual non-participation rule.

  3. 03

    Recalculate a verified correction

    After review, correct Event 3: A was 1st, not 2nd; C moves from 1st to 2nd and B stays 3rd. A gains 20 points (265), C loses 20 (225) and B remains at 245. The new order is A, B, C; Delta remains without event points.

Assumption for this calculation: a non-participant earns no placement points for that event; this is not an additional product-rule promise. Agree on missing starts before running a real series. Turniermeister sums placements from completed events enabled for the table.
