A knockout (elimination) tournament with 4 teams runs over 2 rounds. In every round teams play in pairs – the loser is eliminated immediately, the winner advances. After exactly 3 matches the champion is decided. Because half of the field drops out each round, the knockout format is the fastest option for 4 teams: it needs far fewer matches than a league and is ideal when you want a clear winner in a single day. A balanced seeding keeps the strongest teams apart until late; if the team count is not a power of two, Turniermeister automatically assigns byes in the first round.

A knockout tournament with 4 teams has exactly 3 matches across 2 rounds – every match eliminates one team until the winner is decided. An optional third-place play-off adds one more match.
At 15 minutes per match a knockout with 4 teams takes around 30 min on 2 pitches and about 30 min on 4 pitches – pure playing time. Add extra time for breaks as well as setup and teardown.
More pitches mean more parallel matches and a shorter tournament. The first round has 2 matches – with 2 to 4 pitches a knockout with 4 teams fits comfortably into a single day.
