A multilevel knockout is a tiered KO in which – unlike a classic knockout – no team is eliminated early. All 32 teams start in the main bracket; whoever loses a match drops into a placement round and keeps playing for their exact final ranking. The entire field therefore stays in the tournament until the end, every team plays a match in all 5 rounds, and in the end every position – not just the winner – is decided fairly. With 32 teams that means 5 rounds and 80 matches in total.
A multilevel knockout with 32 teams runs over 5 rounds. In every round all 32 teams play in parallel – winners move up, losers continue in the placement bracket. That produces 16 matches per round, 80 in total.
